When a Tidywells post turns out to be wrong, we fix it, say so at the top of the post, and list it here. Nothing is quietly changed.
4 November 2026: new wells by vintage
The post sorted wells into oil and gas with a rule that labelled many Alberta and Saskatchewan oil wells that also produce gas as gas wells. That mixed the two groups, and its headline (Alberta gas wells starting 19% stronger) was wrong. We replaced the rule with one based on which product makes up at least half of a well's output, reran the study, rewrote the post and conclusions, and rebuilt the Pro data pack. Pro subscribers who downloaded the earlier pack should use the corrected one.
